China MAP PP Tray Suppliers

Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) ensures the taste, nutritional content and freshness of food without the use of preservatives and additives. Take, for example, fruit and vegetable preservatives, fresh fruits and vegetables that still breathe after being picked. They consume oxygen and produce carbon dioxide, which increases carbon dioxide levels and decreases oxygen levels. Using a highly permeable membrane, oxygen can be supplied and carbon dioxide removed by exchanging the packaging gas with the atmosphere. Certain equilibrium concentrations of gases in the package are achieved when the air permeability is equal to the respiration rate of fruits and vegetables. Then, without anaerobic respiration, fruits and vegetables can sustain a weaker respiratory rate.

PP MAP Tray

MAP/CAP, Modified Atmosphere Packaging/Controlled Atmosphere Packaging) scope

(1) Vacuum packaging: the residual oxygen content is required to be below 0.5-1%;

(2) Nitrogen-filled packaging: after vacuuming and filling with nitrogen, the oxygen is further diluted to reduce the residual oxygen content;

(3) Filling with protective gas packaging: replacing air to keep food preservative and fresh;

(4) Packages enclosed in oxygen absorbers or carbon dioxide/ethylene propellants: reduce oxygen and generate modified atmosphere; replace air to delay oxidation reaction of food; fill gas for mixed gas; prevent packaging from slumping due to CO2 seepage.

(5) Other gases: composed of argon, nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and other protective gases
